Optimizing and Scaling Your Coaching Business with Facebook Ads

In the previous two episodes, we talked about planning for your beta course launch and creating compelling Facebook ads. Now, it's time to dive into the critical process of optimizing and scaling your ad campaigns to consistently generate high-quality leads and clients for your coaching business.

The first step in this optimization phase is to identify your top-performing ad creatives and audiences. This means testing a variety of images, videos, and ad copy to see what resonates best with your target market of 28-55 year old men and women who have or are starting a coaching business.

"Typically, once your ads get to about 1,000 to 200,000 Impressions, you have an idea of what's converted the best,"

"You want to have your top two to three winners and you're going to take those and then you're going to expand those out to different audiences."

When analyzing your ad performance, I recommend focusing on three key metrics:

1. Click-through rate (CTR) - Aim for 2.5% or higher

2. Link click rate - Target 1% or above

3. Cost per 1,000 impressions (CPM) - Shoot for the $20s or lower

"If you run this to a few different audiences and you don't have a good click-through rate and a good link click rate, you've got to redo it,"

"You don't want to just take things that are subpar and then look to continue the process."

Once you've identified your winning ad creatives and top-performing audiences, it's time to scale your campaigns. But I want to warn you against a common mistake I see a lot of entrepreneurs make - drastically increasing your ad spend all at once.

"The way to scale is to do it incrementally, 10 to 20% at a time,"

"If you're at $20 a day, you're going to go to $25 the next day. The way you can also scale without scaling is by making sure you have multiple audiences that are converting."

In other words, rather than just cranking up the budget on a single ad set, you'll want to scale across multiple audiences that are already proving successful. This gradual, multi-pronged approach helps you maintain performance and avoid skyrocketing costs.

The final piece of the optimization puzzle is ensuring your landing page and conversion rate are dialed in. I can't stress enough the crucial role of the headline, which I've found is responsible for driving 60-70% of the conversion rate.

"If you go to the page, look at the headline - what does the headline say? The headline is responsible for driving about 60 to 70% of the conversion rates on the page,"

"If you're not converting really good, let's change a headline. Change your headline, and boom, conversion rate just automatically increases."

Ultimately, I recommend aiming for a conversion rate of at least 20-30% from link clicks to registrations. Anything below that, and you may need to revisit your landing page optimization.

If you're a coach or course creator looking to take your Facebook ad strategy to the next level, I hope these strategies have been valuable. By focusing on optimization, gradual scaling, and landing page conversion, you can turn your Facebook ads into a reliable source of high-ticket coaching clients.
